Strong investments and improved worker safety have provided the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Board of Directors an opportunity to approve a $1 Billion rebate of surplus funds for the third time since 2013. They will be reviewing the proposal and, if approved, employers can expect to receive checks in July.

The Bureau also offers new businesses an option to reduce their premiums by participating in the Grow Ohio Incentive Program. In this program, employers can join a group rating program or complete one of three safety requirements. Options include submitting a safety survey, completing two hours of safety training, or completing an online Safety Management Self-Assessment. For more information about the program, please visit
