How many of us have a stack of reading that we intend on getting to over the next month but we never seem to have the time? That stack just continues to grow as we move it around and say …..next week! Most of us understand that taking time for learning is important, but putting out fires and plowing through our to-do list is even more important.

Some of the most successful individuals purposely set time aside in their days or weeks to deliberately learn; labeling this the 5 hour rule. This time is used for reading, classes, practicing skills, searching out feedback, reflection or experimentation.

In a world of constant and rapid change we owe it to ourselves to stay current and not fall behind. Commit yourself and make a decision to deliberately set aside at least an hour every day for learning and growth.
