On each desk here at Pohlman & Talmage is a copy of one of the most dangerous phrases in the English language, “We’ve always done it this way.”  This serves to remind us that we need to continually evaluate how we perform our services and look for ways to change for the better for our clients and for the firm.

Every business owner should be looking at ways to change to improve their business. The phrase I like better is, “If you are not changing, you are not growing”. Some changes that you go through can be difficult and hard to embrace but will most likely result in a positive outcome.

With the advancement of technology, your business may have several opportunities to enhance the efficiency of many accounting related and recordkeeping tasks, thereby allowing you to spend more time developing and growing your business in other areas, while maintaining your current records more efficiently.

If you find yourself spending significant amounts of time performing routine tasks such as bill paying, expense tracking, document storage, reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts you should know that there is help out there that can free up your time.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions on automating your accounting system.
